First launch of the client

No Play button

The client is already open, you are on the voice-chat setup, and the bottom is empty: Play sat below the edge. This is not a crash. It is a first-launch trap we hit back in the beta on 23 August, and Early Access will not have removed it.

The order

  1. If Play is visible, click it and close this page. Next: the checklist and the first life.
  2. Do not click the bottom edge blindly — you can miss Play.
  3. Alt-Tab to Windows. Settings → System → Display. Set a resolution below the current one (for example 1920×1080 → 1600×900 or 1280×720). If scale is 125% or 150%, drop it to 100% for a minute.
  4. Return to WARDOGS. Repeat until the Play button is fully visible at the bottom.
  5. Click Play. Then restore your usual resolution and scale.
Game settings are often still locked here: the voice wizard sits before the menu. So you change the Windows resolution, not a preset in the client.

This is not a crash

If the window died, a crash box appeared, or the whole PC fell — that is a different page. Here the client is alive; the button just missed the frame.

After Play: voice, language, what not to poke

Play on the voice wizard is a one-time gate. Once it is clicked, restore the Windows resolution immediately: 4K and 150% scale are fine again. If the in-game menu clips after you restore scale, change a preset in the client, not the OS. We do not publish “hidden” console commands: the studio has not documented any.

Proximity chat is audible to all three teams. Set the mic so you are heard at twenty metres, not across the plant. Do not brief an assault on the contact line — the enemy shares the radius. If voice cuts out, that is not “turn EAC off”: check Exclusive mode in the sound panel and close the Discord overlay. The client takes UI language from Steam; do not install a third-party “language pack”.

Short answer

No Play button on the voice setup — what do I do?

The window is clipped, not a crash. Drop the Windows resolution or scale until Play fits, click it, then restore yours.
